Rubble REassembled

This seminar investigates how adaptive digital fabrication can enable the reuse of heterogeneous reclaimed construction rubble within natural material hybrid construction systems through biogenic materials. Rather than treating material variability as a constraint to be eliminated, students explore how the geometric, material, and structural characteristics of demolition rubble can inform different fabrication strategies. Through digital characterisation, experimental fabrication, and prototyping, the seminar explores how adaptive workflows can translate irregular reclaimed materials into scalable hybrid building systems, contributing to the broader discourse on digital vernacular, circular construction, and material-responsive fabrication.
